Maria Montessori was an Italian physician who developed a unique approach to early childhood education. Montessori believed that children learn best through hands-on, exploratory experiences. To provide such an environment, she established the first “Children’s House” in Rome in 1907. In this setting, young children were free to choose from a variety of engaging activities, without any time constraints. The toys and activities were carefully chosen to support children’s natural learning and development.
The results were remarkable: children thrived in the Montessori setting, developing academically, socially, and emotionally. In 1914 she will write: “I did not invent a method of education, I simply gave some little children a chance to live”.
Our Montessori toys have been carefully selected to provide young children with the opportunity to learn and grow in a stimulating environment. The bright colours and simple shapes are designed to capture the child’s attention, while the smooth surfaces and curved edges are easy for small hands to grasp. These toys encourage exploration and discovery, helping children to develop important life skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, and fine motor skills. Most importantly, they provide endless hours of fun!
